Garden Wedding at Long Table Farm

Dreaming of strolling through the garden with your beloved, surrounded by lush flowers and vintage charm? Then Long Table Farm is the wedding venue for you! Snuggled into the outskirts of Eugene, this intimate and beautiful little farm was the perfect place for Stephanie & Scott to say “I do.”

Our Search for the Perfect Venue

The original plan was for the couple to be married on their friends’ lavender farm. Unfortunately that plan fell through, and we went venue shopping together: Mount Pisgah Arboretum, Sweet Cheeks Winery, and Long Table Farm were the contenders, but after touring Long Table Farm they knew this would be the most lovely place for their May wedding brimming with flowers.

A Meal to Remember

The venue owner Eva and her family live onsite in a charming farmhouse, hosting all kinds of celebrations, classes, and workshops for the local community. They have a commitment to local food and include custom-built, extra wide tables to facilitate family-style dining at their events. Falling Sky Brewing was the caterer for Stephanie & Scott’s incredible wedding meal, decorated with edible flowers from Long Table Farm.

Family-Style Dining

A quick note about family-style dining: it’s becoming one of my favorite ways to feed you and your guests at intimate weddings. While it might not be the right fit for large events, for smaller gatherings (under 80 people or so) it combines the convenience and luxury of being served at your seat with the personalization of choosing what you want to eat, and how much. Picture a buffet within arm’s reach, and you’ve got the right idea. Plus these vintage silver platters (and mismatched vintage dinner plates) from Birdie June Events were too cute.

Garden Girl Flowers

Our “garden party” wedding wouldn’t be complete without flourishing flowers everywhere. Long Table Farm was in full bloom for this event in May, and we also hired Garden Girl Flowers to provide centerpieces, boutonnieres, bouquets, a ceremony arch, a bridal flower crown, and a huge wreath. The soft color pallette was inspired by a watercolor painting that caught Stephanie’s eye while she was wedding planning. Absolutely scrumptious.

An Amusing Photo Booth

Guests were thoroughly entertained by Amuse Booth, which claims to be “Oregon’s Cutest Handbuilt Photo Booth” and I’d have to agree. The funky costumes, custom guest book, and the friendly attendant (Amuse Booths’ owner, Sarah) provided hours of delight to Stephanie & Scott’s loved ones. I’ll admit it was wildly fun to watch folks select their outfits and poses.

Don’t Want to Dance? Not a Problem!

We had two different “zones” for reception, because during the wedding planning process Stephanie confessed she really wanted to dance the night away, whereas Scott said he would rather chat with friends and family. The perfect solution was to have the firepit lit by Long Table Farm so Scott and his loved ones could gather around, about 75 feet from the dancefloor. It was just far enough away that they could hear each other speak, and close enough that everyone felt like one cohesive party! Between the fire pit and the dancefloor was the photo booth, and guests moved between all three zones depending on how they were feeling. There was a place for everyone to feel comfortable at this beautiful event, and it made me happy to see.

Handmade Touches

You know I love handmade, homemade, artisan-made things… and I have to give a shoutout to Stephanie’s beautiful shoes and shawl. She carefully stitched the colorful flowers onto her wool slides (comfy and cute!), and she knitted her dark blue shawl. There is nothing quite like getting married in something you made yourself!

Congratulations to Stephanie & Scott on their fantastic, memorable wedding! I loved every moment of working with you both and planning this personal, meaningful event. Thank you for trusting me with your special day!
